ABOUT ME

We are a 30-something couple with a two-year old. We are left-leaning, open minded, generally quiet folks. I am a grad student studying physical therapy, but before that I had a corporate job. My husband is a self-employed engineering consultant. Ingrid was born and raised in Atlanta (I can give you an insiders' tour!), and Wade grew up in Ilo, Peru.

We live in Decatur, the coolest area in Metro Atlanta!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've never surfed or hosted yet, but I am really excited about the concept. I have hosted many acquaintances and enjoyed the hospitality of others. I am looking forward to couch surfing with my family.

Interessen

Right now, PT school and being a mom are Ingrid's main interests. We both love anything outside - ultralight backpacking (difficult with the babe), sailing, skiing, kayaking (big open-water crossings are the best!), long-distance running and now, our new fun activities - the zoo and the playground.

Hunter and I spent the summer in Savannah in 2008 (for an internship), and we had a blast. Loved living near the beach and paddling every weekend. Also, we rented a house from an awesome lady with a seriously cool garden and chickens! In the middle of town. Sometime very soon I think we're going to get some chickens of our own.

Wade is currently working on a design to turn our kayaks (that we built about 10 years ago) into a kayakamaran with a kid kayak attached in the middle. Yeah, it's a bit complicated, but that's what happens when you're married to an engineer.

Ingrid loves choral music, all kinds of dancing and visual arts (sculpture, printmaking especially), Wade prefers opera and ballet.

I saw my sister turn her life around. She returned from the precipice facing almost certain death to have a wonderful, meaningful, fulfilling life. In the wake of addiction, mental illness, prison, I witnessed one person make a profound change.
