About Me

I work remotely as a freelance textile designer and virtual assistant. Many people arrange their lives around their work, but I hope to do the opposite. The goal is to work remotely as an artist and digital nomad so that I can be free to explore and travel. I have never been one to stay long in a single place - constantly seeking out the beautiful, unique and quirky corners of this world. I prefer nature to concrete and love small towns. I hope to have a camper within the next year so that I can truly and completely take my work to the road. For now, I take off for a week here or there, as often as I can afford to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

True, I may / may not have a couch but I do honestly love any opportunity to explore and meet new people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent a few months WWOOFing and couchsurfing in Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand. Meeting couchsurfers along the way made for some of my best travel stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love blue grass, folk and americana. Occasionally, I listen to sounds of the forest (city life is hard on me) :|

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nepal has been my absolute favourite country so far and I have plans to go back in the near future. The airline lost my luggage and wouldn't be able to get it to me until the next flight, a week later. I decided to let them hold the bag while I traveled - I didn't need to wait around in Khatmanadu. Bought a new bag and some harem pants, and I couldn't have been happier. I arrived to the country with no extra clothes or hiking shoes, and sick with a cold - but it turned out to be my best trip so far. I felt closer to the country and the people without my whole life in a pack on my back. Nepal is a memorable place for a number of reasons, but I couldn't have picked a better way to see it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have stories for days...

I can teach you batik, block printing, and other textile design techniques.

I can teach you every bad word in Swedish.

And the occasional hula hoop trick (I only have two at the moment..)

Also learning to read Tarot, however, I probably shouldn't be going around reading fortunes just yet.
