Hi, we are Tanya and Andrew. We are married and live in Cambridgeshire with our two daughters, Poppy and Gracie. Life is an adventure! We are always planning for our next big family adventure. We wish to fill their childhood with as many different cultures and experiences as possible.

I am a Nurse and know far too well that life is too short. I work hard and love my job but I'm always looking forward to family time! Andy is a Gym and Leisure Manager. We love sports and try to live an active lifestyle. He is always planning fitness workouts and regimes and is always happy to share advice and his expertise.

Interests

We love meeting new people and learning new things. I enjoy learning from different cultures and learning new languages. We are learning French as a family and can hold a basic conversation. We hope to continue learning to become fluent. We all enjoy history and often visit historical sites and buildings.
We love nature and often visit the beach or woods for a walk and explore. We both enjoy Football and our girls are both into Ballet and Drama.

Music, Movies, and Books

We enjoy a wide range of music from rock to pop. One of my favourite experiences was listening to a live Blue Grass Band in Tennessee whilst sampling some whiskey.
We love a good movie and have of corse watched all the Disney/Pixar movies with our girls. I enjoy a good comedy and Andy likes the action movies.
Our joint favourite film is The Shawshank Redemption.
I like to read. I am currently studying a part time degree which is all the reading I seem to do at the moment. Andy only has to look at a book and he's asleep so he'll often take a newspaper to bed to avoid a head injury when he falls asleep! Poppy is a keen reader and currently has a thirst for Roald Dahl and Shakespeare!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Andrew and I have travelled around Thailand visiting Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Koh Samet and Koh Chang. We went waterfall hunting in Koh Chang and spent time at an Elephant sanctuary.

I have been backpacking with my best friend and stayed in an awesome hostel in Copenhagen.

We have spent three weeks as a family in America over Christmas visiting Alabama, Florida and Tennessee!

Andrew has done the three peaks challenge. Climbing Mount Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis in 24 hours.

Our Girls have met the Queen and gave her flowers on Christmas Day at her Sandringham Estate.

Teach, Learn, Share

We hope to share life experiences and knowledge with our fellow couch surfers and ultimately broaden the horizon for our children to show them that anything is possible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are both good cooks and always happy to prepare a family meal. Andy is always happy to share his knowledge of fitness and create a personal workout. We are a easy going family with plenty of stories to tell. We hope to meet families with similar aged children so they can develop friendships and become pen pals.
