ABOUT ME

I live my life trying to have a deep committed love for learning, music, community, and my family and friends. I believe traveling is an amazing tool to broaden one's comfort zones to allow one to become more open. I'm determined to live a happy life and see those around me happy, while still living as responsibly as I can. Sometimes I fail at this, sometimes I succeed. All this aside, if I have the pleasure of meeting you I hope to give you something to take away with you, be it knowledge, a song, a smile, or yummy food in your tummy. And I can only start to imagine what you will give to me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed, I've hosted, I've been to events and even planned a few, and have been a constant advocate. I've surfed all over Europe, parts of Asia, and North, South, & Central America and have hosted at my homes in Berlin and Canada. I give and take from the community and extremely appreciate both aspects along the way. I can only hope to contribute even more in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only met positive, happy people through CS so far. Everyone has been eager to help and have been interested in instilling a sense of community through their cities.

In no particular order: community, music, learning, good food, technology, politics, people, literature, Tibet, philosophy, first snow, psychology, art, family, friends, travel, language, feminism, cheese, water, poetry, zombies, nature, films, dancing, history, empathy, compassion, festivals, amateur photography, comics, swimming, theatre, books, ice cream, people watching, teaching, singing, hitchhiking, cycling, story telling, creation (of various things), being silly, being passionate, and love.

The three music genres that affect me the most are hip-hop, chamber choir music, and tunes from 60s/70s Motown/Stax/Chess records.

This being said, a different genre for every occasion: jazz for breakfast, electronica for late night, folk for sadness, punk for dishes, etc. Nina Simone is my absolute favourite.

Simply put, I'm a film buff. I like films that frustrate me, but also like to see things explode, and everything in between.

I really like reading, like, a lot. Kurt Vonnegut seems to know me pretty well.
