About Me

Currently Back to school at Purdue!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing to meet a global group of expatriates. I want to travel the world all over taking a bit of me everywhere I go and a bit of everywhere I go with me.

Interests

I haven't done a lot of things but I want to go BASE jumping, sky diving, kayaking, climb a mountain, go hunting and a host of other outdoorsy activities.

If you are nerdy, we can work on a project together. I have a background in linguistics, literature and pedagogy. I just completed a research on clothing as reinforcing tools for language pedagogy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of music but my favorite artists include Asa, Adele, R-Kelly, Brymo, Eminem, John Legend...
Movies, I'm not sure I have any "favorites" at the moment. I watch movies for the entertainment so I do a lot of action movies, black comedy romance, animations, ..not really into adventures although I watch them sometimes.

TBH, after 4years of literature, my interest in books has taken a free-fall but I think my favorite books of all time will include these three: Lola Soneyin's "The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives", Mariama Ba's "So Long a Letter", Aminata Sow Fall's "The Beggars' Strike" and Nawal El Saadawi's "Woman at Point Zero".

While my favorite author is Chimamanda Adichie. (Whose work I wrote about for my undergraduate thesis under the title: "Good and Evil")

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not sure what will qualify as amazing..but most "outstanding" things I can think of are academic. Like getting the Fulbright!
One of the last people to see the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris before the April, 2019 fire.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a Yoruba cultural experience: food, language, teach you about the Yoruba culture, the local culture, etc.
If I'm not busy at the time, I can also show you around or at least go to some places with you and introduce to some fun, similarly minded people.

Countries I’ve Visited

England, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Scotland, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, United Arab Emirates

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Denmark, Nigeria, United States
