When I graduated college I packed a book bag and left the States and I've been traveling for 2 years ever since (although, my Mom thinks I'm on the run). I have been to 25 countries, most of them within the past two years. A lot of my travel is personal. I lost my Dad at the age of 18 and every 5 years I do a big trip somewhere far in the world (so not Europe or North America). 2019 was the 5 year anniversary of his passing and I traveled to South Africa to commemorate it. It was a life changing experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet locals when I travel and get the best advice about what to do and see while meeting people along the way! My favorite travel stories are the ones that involve locals telling me their opinions and thoughts on their country, or taking me to hidden gems, or just inviting me to tag along on everyday tasks.

Interests

I love to run; the best place I’ve ran so far was in Argentina (I lived on a farm with a host family and to this day I have nothing as beautiful as it). I also like to read and write. I play the violin which is a good stress relief (if I bring it with me I will serenade you with it!)

Music, Movies, and Books

Love all books (I was an English Major) and music, nothing picky when it comes to movies either!

My taste does change with the times but I am trying to read more modern/contemporary things since I studied the classics in college.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve hiked the Andes and the fjords in Norway as well as Table Mountain in South Africa. I love the outdoors and nothing better is some peace and quiet with Mother Nature.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share food and alcohol, I want to learn about the country you're from and learn your language. I can teach you about where I'm from (and how to cook, my mother taught me all I know)

What I Can Share with Hosts

My mom taught me how to cook, so a home cooked meal is one way I can show my gratitude for opening up your home! I’m from the south in the States, which has a huge food culture so I can cook “traditional” American food you’d probably couldn’t find in any restaurant.
