About Me

TRAVELING UNTIL MID-AUGUST 2019!

CURRENT MISSION

After some unsteady years, life has settled down a bit. Face the daily grind with some travelling and adventure in between is my current mission.

ABOUT ME

There are so many nice things to do, interesting stuff to learn about that I very often get problems organizing my time in a way, that I can do everything. Or facing the thruth: Learn how to prioritize what's really important.
To say that I'm interested in other cultures and have interesting conversations would be a bit vague - as that's why we all are here. But yes, I like that a lot.
Until December 2012 I was an exchange student in Itajuba, Minas Gerais, Brazil for one semester. I really enjoyed this experience and as a nice side effect I learned portuguese. After writing my master's thesis in Denmark i returned to Germany where I work now as a software developer.

PHILOSOPHY

When traveling you meet people on your way who might be very different to the people you surround yourself with every day. That way I got to know many different attitudes towards life and many interesting biographies. For me it essentially feels like pushing the boundaries of my own world and stepping outside of that well-known-bubble I live in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started to surf just 2011 in February and met a lot of incredibly welcoming and interesting people. In 2016 I moved to Leipzig, where I live since and as soon as I move to a bigger flat I intend to host people and return some of the hospitality that I was blessed to experience so far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A great one. I can definetly say that it has opened up my mind for so many things!

Interests

I enjoy live music, especially those concerts with many instruments involved. Preferably I listen to Jazz, Folk(-Rock) and Bluegrass music, but I also enjoy to dive into new directions. After starting as a kid with the piano and now learn to play tenor banjo. I like the banjo as part of the old jazz bands, and that's where I'm headng to musically.

My whole university education was about Sustainable Energies, so my passion is all about contributing to a future where renewable energies have an important role to play. I also like to learn more about selfmade energy-supply-solutions and off-grid lifestyle.
