About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'd like to wake up tomorrow and say "WOW - That was Cool"'

ABOUT ME

I enjoy travelling and am comfortable in most social situations from A Bowling Alley to the Opera. I enjoy being around positive people and I lean left politically. Dining out is always enjoyable as is a nice home cooked meal. I am artistic and have been painting just about my entire life. I am respectful of others and their possesions and appreciate the same in return. I am punctual to a fault. My career was spent as an Air Traffic Controller, but now that I am retired I am going to finally do some serious travelling. I like talking with people that are willing to share their travel and life stories. I am easy to get to know and would love to hear all about your travels and your travel dreams.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live
Be the Change you want to see in the world. Ghandi
Be nice!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am brand new at this and am really hoping that my age and gender won't be a total show stopper. I plan on starting my first CS adventure on July 18th, 2012. I will be leaving Vermont, to visit my son in Palo Alto, CA. I am happy to meet or speak on the phone before you commit to hosting me if that will make your decision easier. On the other side of the equation, I have a large home in Vermont with a nice guest room. I love playing tour guide when time permits.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to this and am starting out by following my youngest son's lead. He rode his bike across the country last year on the Transamerica bike trail. His CS experiences were positive and I thought I'd try it myself. He now has a job (YES!) in Palo Alto, CA and I am off to visit. No, I am not afraid of flying, I actually have a pilot license. Yes, I could afford to stay in nice hotels. This just sounds like more of an adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy things that stir emotions or make me laugh. Move me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sounds lame but there was this sunset once on Naragansett Bay, I was in a small fishing boat, flat water, the whole world turned orange. Unforgettable.

The birth of my first child

I was in the back seat of a B57 over northern Quebec, at 50,000 ft, at night, full moon glistening off millions of small ponds and lakes. WOW.

Teach, Learn, Share

I suppose I could give a few pointers on oil painting, carpentry, flying, Im not a teacher but could be a friend. Would love to organize travel to off the beaten path locations, Laos is especially appealing to me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bermuda, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Spain, Viet Nam, Virgin Islands, British, Virgin Islands, U.S.
