About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be the best version of myself I can be. Carry on the journey of my art, and visiting a lot of beautiful places and people. Excited to see where it'll take me. :)

ABOUT ME

Early 40s artsy, guitarpicking, basslapping, singing, picture-taking, nature-loving, joke-telling, easygoing chap from Molde, Norway.

PHILOSOPHY

I'll mention a few: NEVER judge anyone. Listen, observe. Take your time, enjoy life. If something is worth doing, do it now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If I'm having a quiet period workwise, my couch will be available. If I'm all filled up with work I won't be able to host, but I'm always up for meeting new and interesting people. I'm very much into history, culture, geography etc. I love learning about different cultures and countries, how people live in other places. I'm all about exchanging experiences, thoughts, philosophies etc. So even if you don't need a place to stay, but just wanna meet up for a cup of coffee (or tea, which is my preferred hot beverage) and a chat, don't hesitate to drop me a line.

By the way. I notice my response rate fluctuates quite a bit here. The reason for this is that people send requests a day or two before they're due to arrive, so I don't get a chance to respond before it's too late. Either way, I answer everyone! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just one so far. Me and a mate stayed at this lady's couch in Stockholm a few years ago. A very pleasant experience, we had a great time. I myself hosted two Polish people a couple of years ago. We had a pretty positive exchange, very nice people.

Interests

Music is definitely a thing that defines me and my life. I've always loved music. I discovered the Beatles at 9, and ever since than it's just grown. I love a lot of different kinds of music. Go to the "Movies, Music, Books"-section for my faves. I'm also a musician by profession, and play mostly guitar, bass, upright bass and vocals. Some piano/keyboard and drums. I got my first mandolin a few months ago. And I recently got my first ukulele - which I'm playing constantly these days. What I love about being a musician is being able to express what's in my heart, connect with an audience. And also, music is a universal language. So playing with musicians from anywhere in the word, or to any audience, even if we don't speak the same language, music is our language. Music doesn't judge. s just casual conversation, goofing around. My favourite kind of conversation is either the deep philosophical ones (usually occurs after midnight), or the open sharing ones between two people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

September 27th 1993: my first ever Paul McCartney concert, in Oslo. A defining moment in my life
The sun trying to pierce through the morning mist an early Summer's morning.

Well, I could probably mention more if I thought about it, but I generally find that the smaller moments between people are more important. Like when you get a little smile from an infant and you feel a connection. That moment when someone open up and share something significant and personal with you, trust is such a fragile and beautiful thing. <3

Teach, Learn, Share

Being a music-lover and musician, I wouldn't mind a mutual exchange of music. Be it listening to music, playing-singing. Or playing for you - or even better: playing together. I could give a quick lesson too, if you're interested. I love showing people around the beautiful country of Romsdal, be it short walks or longer mountain hikes. I also love going to concerts, jamsessions (I generally participate), if that's your kind of thing. I'm interested in whatever you can teach me about the culture, food, customs, history etc. of your country. Or whatever might be on your mind.
