One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked in Ooty, India over the summer in 2006 with "untouchable" children, and it took my heart.

The next summer I worked in Palapye, Botswana doing AIDS education and I learned I could live content just about anywhere in the world. But I could not see myself doing organized group short-term volunteer work ever again. I've had nightmares.

I spent my new years in 2010 on a beach in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua retrieving empty liquor bottles from the shore and realized so many who drink and who travel still have so much to learn about respect.
