About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make a difference in China.

ABOUT ME

I am easy going but I love order. I love to be in the company of people, yet I crave for solitude, some time to sit back, reflect and write. I like to explore and experiment. I like to be inspired by new faces, new places and new experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short. While I cannot escape death, I want to make every second in life count. I want to see, feel and touch lives. I want to leave behind a legacy that even long after I am gone, it still survives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host, surf and meet fellow surfers as often as I have time for. Hopefully, we could learn from each other and grow together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed, hosted and met lots of lovely people from CS in China, Japan, the USA, Singapore and Europe.

Interests

TRAVEL! Read, write, record, create. People, music, media and entertainment. Social innovation is a goal. And when I'm not doing any of those, SLEEP :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kinds of music that stirs me to an emotional high. I am open minded to pop. I groove to rock. And these past couple of years, I've developed an appreciation of good electronic music; BT is my favorite. Currently on my playlist are some Japanese indie bands.

I go for movies with a good story, usually an indie film rather than some high budget special effects bonanza. I am in love with animated features especially the classic works of Disney, Pixar and Ghibli Studios, and recently, the stories of Makoto Shinkai.

Again, anything with a gripping story makes it worthwhile for me to stay in flipping pages on weekends. Recently finished Haruki Murakami's 'Colorless Tsukuru', Damon Galmut's 'In A Strange Room' and 'Creativity, Inc'. Now reading 'I Dreamed of Africa', Etgar Keret's writings, and a slew of design-related books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York was a big jolt on the fragility of life. Yet, I've come to believe that there's nothing in this world that is quite as fearful as fear itself. Dare to do things without fear, and you will jolly well have the best experience of your life! Because if fear holds you back, you are just going to drift through life and die from the most mundane things like going to work.

Teach, Learn, Share

Be humble. Treat everyone with the same respect you would command for yourself. Be open-minded. Appreciate the beauty of diversity, and you will be rewarded multiple times over. This is the best that one should get out of a CS experience, and that's why I'm here :)
