ABOUT ME
January 2017, one way ticket to Mexico. It was supposed to be my loooong awaited and absolutely not planed (on purpose!) one year around the world trip. 6 months later I was in Costa Rica. It took me 6 months from Mexico to Costa Rica??? There was the moment, when I definitely realized it will not be the whole world in one year😏
Travelling turned more and more into a life style. No more hectic visiting of all the tourist places in the destinations I arrived to. Just going with the flow. It was more and more determined by people I met on my way. Couchsurfing, hitchhiking or just making new friends walking on the streets or being in a bar... After two years of constant movement in America I reached one of my personal goals I set for my life: I was open to this world, to everything that happened to me and what is gonna happen in the future, not only while travelling but in my daily life.
December 2018, I am back to Germany. Without telling anyone. I guess no one expected me ever being back. Can you imagine the faces of the parents, having a dinner after a long working day...the door bell is ringing and after two years they see their daughter? One of those amazing moments in my life😊 At that point I was not sure whether it is gonna be just a short stop to give a huge hug to my family and friends before I move on to Asia or if I gonna stay for longer...Now I got a job, moved to a new city even bought some furniture😱 No Asia so far. But curiosity still rules! Luckily!☺
So far short summary of the past 2 years of my life. The other 10 before I was studying like crazy, investigating on a new semiconducting material and travelling of course☺
When I was 15, I moved from Russia to Germany, a big change in my life... I am not sure I would be where I am now, if it wouldn't happen.
And if talking about myself as a person...so far it is not an interview, I prefer to don't do it:-) Likely here are some people who wrote their impression about me!
I can just add that sometimes I'm impatient, do NOT enjoy dishonest, close-minded, arrogant people and small talks. I'm pretty much independent person, down to earth, enjoying simple things in life, since it is the easiest way to be happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Mostly surfing so far. But I hosted people I met over couchsurfing, already as friends:-)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My relationship with couchsurfing started 2011 during my semester abroad in Valencia. My colombian friend introduced to me this platform. And unfortunately it was not a nice start...but nothing too dramatic, so while travelling afterwards Europe by my own I continued looking for connection to the locals everywhere I was. And I must say I never regret. I have got to know places from a different angle of view. It is a pity I couldn't give back everything I received over the hospitality of people all around the world so far. But I really welcome everyone to my city and my place even if Oftersheim seems not to be THE german tourist destination:-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
· My first solo trip to Andalusia in March 2012...Amazing people, great adventure. I learned the word wanderlust!
· 4 days hiking in Costa Rica with well trained guys from Raleigh. Amazing partly due to the incredible views, mostly due to my first experience with orientation using a paper map and a compass and repeating myself more then ever before "yes, you can":-)
· Paragliding in Colombia
· Spending 3 days of my life completely blind and dumb in peruvian amazonas
· Camping on the top of Piedra del Peñol near Medellin and almost get caught by security in the morning while trying to get down
· Hitchhiking in South America
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you german or russian, also introduce both cultures to you (will tell you the secret why Russians seem to be serious all the time and do not smile :-)), or teach you cooking some food. Of couse share some travel stories. I also belive I could convince you that a smile some times really make a differece.
I would like to learn playing guitar and restart playing piano again, practice Portuguese with a real person instead of my Duolingo app:-), also I am very interested in hitchhicking, since for me it is the best way to get to know the country and people, so happy to get some advices:-)
