About Me

June 2023 ⬇️

Always a pleasure to hang out with smart/funny people 😃
Always interested in different culture but my favourite ones are 🇸🇯and🇷🇺 (I'm studying Russian language, not yet Norwegian).
Rome is the best place to be but you need to love history, art and be very patient.

I spent 97% of my free time, money and energy to travel, explore and improve lives of people I care about.

Sometime I host too: if you need accommodation please read the following part.

⬇️ July 2021⬇️
(Pandemic is over?)

Hello there!
I'm Valerio, please enjoy my super-nice introduction 😜
I'm usually open, available to hang out and share good vibes, especially when I'm travelling

BUT!
Before writing for accomodation please be aware:

A- HOUSE RULES MUST BE RESPECTED: if you want 100% freedom and 100% confort please pay for your own 5 stars ;)
I don't give house keys.

HOUSE RULES are Galateo, basic hygiene rules and common sense.

Bicycle travellers are the most welcomed guest 🚴

B-
Monday-Friday I'm usually busy 9am-6pm, but sometime not 🤞

C- I believe the perfect stay to enjoy Rome is about 4 days/nights.
If you are "art, history and beauty" sensitive probably one week 😀🙈

D- If you look forward to meet the stereotyped italian guy 100% "spaghetti, pizza, mandolino, wine, italian cuisine and human being at your service with plenty of of fake stories to tell you" also in this case I would be very happy to avoid you.

My skills in the kitchen are close to zero and most of the times I have only real stories, not bullshits to tell 😀

I like sharing kindness, life-experience, philosophy, different point of views.
I love drinking wine, walking, history, geography, cinema, meeting new people and social partying.
Hiking, Ryanair, Wizzair, beach volley and bicycle my favourite not "urban" activities.

E- I would be more than pleased if you provide some short information about you and your trip 👍

I think Couchsurfing should be a balanced experience.

❎❎Using Couchsurfing does NOT mean "Free Accommodation" and does NOT mean being always together.
I think most of the times should be something in the middle subjected to possible changes hopefully for the better 😁

F- If you are here and you have carefully read all the previous lines just a little suggestion.. in your first message please use the password "Hadrian's wall": that would increase the chance to be hosted other conditions being equal.

G- And last but not least.
You should have MOBILE connection on your own.
I don't accept guests that are travelling without mobile internet connection.

So.. the real final password is: "I have mobile internet connection and I like Hadrian's wall" 👋👋

Cheers!

@ December 2016 @

Hello there!
I'm Valerio, I'm from Rome and i decide to invest my month of holiday in beautiful and wild New Zealand.
To be more precise I would like to cycle with my beloved roman bycycle from Auckland (I'll land 26th of December) to Invercargill (I wish to be there within 20th of January because i have my flight back to Italy 28th of January from Auckland -so I need time to come back -probably renting a ca r and hopefully also spending 3-4 days relaxing somewhere i like without cycling everyday in Forrest Gump's style).

This is my plan in few words.

I would be very very pleased to meet and know nice and interesting people during my route (and not only sheep, i know there 40 millions sheep against 4 millions NZ citizens :) ).
I like talking to people, sharing experiences, learning from different cultures and listen to any possible (above all life & touristic) suggestions :)
I was in New Zealand (because of work, few years ago, but I explored very little unfortunately, for example I have never been in southern island) and I really really liked "Kiwi's style" and the country atmosphere.
On the other I was very lucky at the time because it was September 2011 and all people were crazy because of Rugby World Cup and All Blacks.

Unfortunately/fortunately I'm stuck in Italy because of job and other situation but if I had the possibility to leave (who knows in the future or when I ll be retired) NZ would be in my top3 choices (other 2 are Holland and (south of) Spain).

I plan to cycle an average of 90/130km per day and the total route is approximately 2000/2300km so, from a theorical point of view, I would spend only 1 night in each place (I'm supposed to arrive at about 7-8 in the evening and leaving 8-10 in the morning) but of course this is only a general/average plan and nobody obligedsme to not stay more than one night in the same place or leaving earlier at 6am for example becuase my host asks me to do this :)

Hope to meet you soon.
Ciao!

@ April 2015 @
Hi there,
I'm travelling by bycycle from the middle of May from Rome, my hometown, to the Hadrian's Wall at the border between England and Scotland. I'm supposed to be in Edimburgh within the 20th of June. From the 24th of June I'm going to cycle from Copenhagen, Hamburg, Berlin, Praha, Wien, Budapest, Zagreb, and lastly being in Rome at the beginning of August after about 6000km and 80 days travelling (Jules Verne's inspiration) :)

I have been coachsurfing member since 2013 but unfortunately I was not very active (never hosted and be hosted) because my house was no ready yet to host and because over the last 2 years I have not done this kind of travel.

For me would be very nice to be hosted (usually not more than one night because otherwise I would take much more than 80 days), meet new people and share my and your experience! :)

I'm polite, respectful and a usually a nice person to talk with (I say "usually" because sometime after 150km cyclyng I could be vey very tired and not so talkative...).

Over the last 2 years I often used the Carsharing site "Blablacar" so if you want to look up for some (good) feedbacks of mine you could look up in this website searching me through 0039 (italian prefix) + 3331065***.

Hope to meet you soon!

Cheers
