Overview
About Me
I'm Jos (they/them), a Lexington, KY local by way of Oregon & West Virginia. My primary passions are politics technology, and cycling. I'm a software developer and organize several tech meetups. I used to organize a bunch of community bike rides but got a little burnt out on that but I still bike a lot and have spare bikes to borrow if you stay with me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing to be part of a really cool network that helps introduce you and those who stay with you to local culture and people wherever you/they go
Hosting: it's really great opening your home to new people with so many different and varied experiences and getting to hear about slivers of their life and getting to show them the best parts and people of your city
Surfing: it's awesome meeting locals and finding out the best parts of a new place especially if they may be off the beaten path

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In spring of 2012 I walked from Lexington KY to Chicago IL with a group of activists in relation to the Occupy Wall Street Movement. We met and stayed with a ton of interesting people from many walks of life and it was a really fulfilling experience
More than one but a buddy and I also biked from Lexington KY to Louisville KY on fixed gear bicycles
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a little bit about bike repair and volunteer at a local bike Co-Op
I know a bit of leftist theory and really enjoy talking politics (even with folks with different points of view)
