About Me

***UPDATE June 2023***
I am currently staying with a friend in Switzerland until September, so I cannot host sorry :(

While I am in Europe from June to September, I would like to travel for food, taste local dishes and learn new recipes!

If I don't reply it means my membership is no longer active... for those couchsurfing members whom I have hosted/surfed/met up, you are more than welcome to contact me on WhatsApp 😊

ABOUT ME
I’m just a random person with a partial Asperger brain trying to find my place in this universe. I enjoy living in different continents as that makes me feel like I've lived multiple lives! Couchsurfing is one of the best things on this planet where travellers befriends strangers in foreign lands and I really enjoy couchsurfing/hosting and meeting new people and teaching/learning all sorts of things. I am an introvert so sometimes later on in the day I might appear to be spacing out and not talking much as I recharge my battery. Sometimes I can be dreaming and my head is in a parallel universe... I can be very random at times and I like taking pictures of food and cats. I am a foodie, I love food and I eat almost everything. I was born in Taiwan and raised in New Zealand.

PHILOSOPHY
In 2012 I met an artist, an Indian old man (http://mohanlajolla.com) in San Diego who really spoke to me. He asked me what was I doing on a journey away from home and asked if I was collecting different energies from different experiences then unleashing them in an explosive force. I guess that’s what have I been doing since I have left my hometown in down under, although the way the old man had described it with gestures and sound effects is more relatable and interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To learn new things from different landscapes and its people then pass them onto others.

As a host, I...
- Always host without any expectations with passion and pleasure
- Happy to organise trips to my favourite places
- Love to have good food together!

As a guest:
- Always surf with the intention of hosting
- Full of curiosity
- 90% of the time I am organised and punctual, but also allow some space for spontaneity!
- Always clean and tidy
- Offer to cook homey Taiwanese food :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As simple as sharing a moment with another person.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed across USA, Asia and Europe and it has been a very inspiring experience for me, to be welcomed by such kind hosts who made me feel at home and treated me like a close friend. It was a total pleasure hosting travellers in Key West, Auckland and Taipei and it was great to keep that Karma going. I look forward to more couchsurfing adventures to come!
I really enjoy hosting and providing hospitality with clean sheets, blankets and towels and with every hosting experience, both with being a host in a different location/landscape and host different surfers, I discover a new side of myself and a new piece to the puzzle.

Interests

I love food almost too much so if we eat together I won't be talking much...

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie genre: comedy, thriller, animation
Music genre: Fleetwood Mac, Queen, The Killers, Keane,
Books: I’m somewhat dyslexic and cannot follow through books very well

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being surrounded by 200 spinner dolphins in the coast of Gulfo Dulce in Costa Rica.
Jump off a 20m waterfall in Montezuma, Costa Rica.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I am a traveler, I know how difficult it is to be a foreigner in other people's familiar land. When people ask me for advice in regards to places I have visited, I encourage them to ask more questions as I am very passionate about traveling and I am more than happy to help, to make sure that they have a great time thus having positive attitudes towards the local people's beloved hometowns that are foreign to them.

I can teach people how to make DIY cosmetics and personal care products - I've been making my own for almost 3 years now.

I can also teach people how to make websites and build apps.

I make kickass vegan food like waffles, cheesecake, ice cream and waffle cones (but I’m not vegan)

What I Can Share with Hosts

An invitation with my warmest welcome to my hometown of Aotearoa (New Zealand)!
Some home-cooked meals (I am a good cook and I enjoy cooking and learning new recipes! I also cook tasty vegan meals)
By the way, I'm not vegan, I just prefer to cook vegan. I eat everything.
