ABOUT ME

We are a couple with many similar interests, specially art, travel and people!
We start living together recently (2013), so, most of the references that you can find below, are in respect of Mateus, but if you want to know more about us, you can check our pages: From Cape to Cape and my Facebook page and maybe you to get a better idea of ​​who we are.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I (Mateus) started in CS in 2008, but only a year after I had my first experience, when I hosted a Indian couple, who helped bring down any questions that still presistice about 'host someone unknown in our own house.'
Now we are living together and Yola - who is a travel addicted and who realy like to meet people as I do - is full of desire to start in CS as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since 2009 I (Mateus) have a more active participation in CS. Not only hosting and being hosted, but also participating in meetings and initiatives associated with the CS. I also look - wherever is possible - be the organizer of some activities, and share with friends, the great that is, being part of CS universe.

Between September 2011 and March 2012 I made my first big trip and CS was not only an aid, but also provided fantastic experiences and the possibility of new friendships.

Intereses

We are interested in everything that surrounds us, but nothing beats the fascination we have for travel! And we travel to meet people!.. to share with them a bit of their lives and learn a little of their culture.
All our interests are associated - in one way or another - to travel.
The main hobby of Mateus is trains. Mateus love traveling by train and everything that surrounds the railroad universe.
Since 2008 is member of a club of 'friends of the railway', and he also collect miniature models.
Wine is a passion of both, and the demand to know more about this world, often leads us to go through the country to visit producers and wineries.
Everything is associated with the liking for geography and travel; architecture, castles, lighthouses and gastronomy are other incentives to travel

We are also fascinated by all manifestations of art and we don't dispense a go to the theater, a good book, a good music or a good movie.

Música, películas y libros

We like all kinds of music since well played!
Despite that, we prefer jazz, world or ethnic music.

About movies, our preferences lies with suspense, dramas and those who report real life. We have no particular interest in science fiction or fantasy films.

As for books, we like particularly travel books and authors such Hemingway, Tiago Salazar, Paul Theroux, Tim Butcher, Miguel Esteves Cardoso and Luis Sepúlveda.
