ABOUT ME

KEVIN - Has now retired and was a career Cartographer that was engulfed by computer technology at work. You can hate them or love them, but they are essential in my professional work today.
I did not let computers rule my life and still enjoy doing manual tasks outside work. I get the travel bug every year or two.
We have a caravan and enjoy getting out on the road when we can.
LYN - wife of Kevin who is trained as an early childhood teacher. Was Director of a community based child care centre but has now taken on a quieter role as teachers aide in high school working with special needs children on a one to one basis.

PHILOSOPHY

To enjoy each day and think how lucky I am by being healthy and living in a free country.

We offer comfortable lodgings, food, hospitality and touring advice to anyone passing through our way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to couchsurfing but we have been members of hospitality club. We travelled in Europe & UK in 2008 and used the hosting services on a several occassions.
We found it a very rewarding experience and a chance to not only see the area but to meet the individuals that live there. Language was no barrier in Europe. We have hosted people in our home from France, USA, Argentina, Thailand, China, Japan, Denmark through various organisations and hosted visitors with limited English skills. Traveled throughout USA & Canada in 2010 using couchsurfing on some occasions. traveled again to Europe but did not use couchsurfing.

Interests

Kevin - Family, Travel, F1 motor racing, a little family history, National trust activities. Classic cars.
Lyn - Family, Travel, seeing the world and travelling around Australia again.

Music, Movies, and Books

Kevin likes the movies Blade Runner, 2001, Watchman, Blindside.
Books are generally autobiographical or Non- Fiction. Currently enjoying "An Inconvenient Child"
Music - anything that is pleasant, then again I liked Jimmy Hendrix when he was alive and still do enjoy it.
Lyn is sort of the opposite,enjoying romantic comedy movies set in beautiful locations around the world, a variety of fictional and non-fictional books and music from classical to rock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kevin witnessed a large meteorite pass overhead shortly before it crashed into ocean with night turning into Day.
