Educated in mainland China till 18 yrs old, went to Sydney and got my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Media and Cultural Studies. Currently working in Hefei (my hometown in mainland China) as an spoken English teacher and a freelance writer. Over the past few years, I've been to Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and various scenic places in mainland China. I enjoy reading and writing, and I also make documentary films when inspiration comes. *I am a queer Cser, I love meaningful discussions about gender and sexuality issues among other social-political discussions :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was tremendously grateful for people who have helped me when I travelled alone. Not only did I make great local friends but also had deeper understanding of the local culture. I enjoyed living among the locals, talking with locals, buying bread and chocolate croissant from the local bakery, dining at local restaurant...and listening to the locals talking about their lives.
在过去的旅行中，我得到了太多人的帮助，为此我深深地感谢那些慷慨的人们。做沙发客不仅能结交当地的好朋友，还可以对当地文化有更深层的了解。我喜欢和当地人在一起，和当地人聊天，在他们的面包店享用巧克力可颂饼，在当地的饭店里享用美食，听当地人聊他们的生活，不能比这个更令人开心的了！

Interests

I love challenges! I like pushing myself a little bit further each time I travel. I am also a bookworm, and my favourite books are classical novels because...they are classical :) I am also a movie buff. I have a thing for low budget independent films, but it doesn't mean that I don't enjoy Hollywood blockbusters. I write stories, mainly dairy-like non-fiction or cultural criticism. Sometimes I make short films and documentaries just for my own entertainment. I also LOVE learning languages and enjoy a laugh with friends.

I am a good listener and a good speaker too, so it will never be boring! I also cook good Chinese food, though not a professional cook. I am proficient in English and speak fair amount of French. I've been teaching English for many years. I also read extensively on culture.
