ABOUT ME

No Left Turn Unstoned: a friend found that written as a fourth word on a No Left Turn sign years ago, and I've loved it ever since. About me, h'mm; I'm an independent thinker who works with his hands, a dancer, an artist, and a collector. I've about always been self employed, for a long time now as a carpenter/builder, with some activity as an artist and an antiques dealer thrown in. I lived the hippie back-to-the-land, voluntary-poverty life for almost ten years ending in 1993, then lived in Asheville NC for lotsa years, moved to the Washington DC area in 2008, and am now looking to take diggings in the Philadelphia area. The muse has grown increasingly insistent this last year, and it's time to change paths, put down the hammer and pick up the brush.

What else is relevant here- let's see- I'm loyal, compassionate, sensual, affectionate, sensible and responsible, a non-drinker, non-smoker, non-drug-user, a creative problem-solver, fun, I laugh a lot, have a very broad, slapstick, kinda twisted sense of humor, am intellectual, emotional but composed, aesthetically driven, curiosity-driven, love to dance, love to learn. I love knowing *interesting people*.

Interessi

Primary interests besides art-related things are dancing (contra, waltz, zydeco, swing), collecting antique bottles, books, tools, and anything else that catches my eye, words, essays and essaying, poetry, trees, wood as a material, traveling and exploring, geography and the earth sciences generally, geopolitics, learning about people- how we work psychologically as individuals and in groups, and as physical beings. Basically all of it, the large and the small, the whole heady range of it. I'll probably acquire a lot of new interests from people I meet couchsurfing... :)
