About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently based in London, focussing on seeing as much of the Uk and Europe as possible and upskilling in aerial!

ABOUT ME

In a few words... circus artist, vegan, embroiderer, spoken word poetry lover. In a few more... I've spent the last few years teaching, performing and learning circus in New Zealand, Portland, Oregon and the UK, mainly exploring the world of aerial dance and trying to develop as a performer!

PHILOSOPHY

Your only limitation is your own imagination. Bhavatu Sabba Mangalam.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because its a wonderful way to connect with people wherever you are in the world. I've had a lot of couchsurfers at flats I've lived in, although they were all organised through my flatmate's couch surfing accounts. It's lovely having people to stay from all over, sharing recipes, discussions and adventures, especially when I've been living in one place for three years. Right now while I'm living in London and taking small trips to Europe, I'm hoping to couchsurf so I can meet new people and get the local perspective on the places I get to :)

Interests

Live performance whether it's circus, dance, theatre, poetry, music or otherwise. I love to embroider and cook and especially love the beach! I really want to learn to surf.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hhhmm.... The Night Circus, God of Small Things, The Help are the books that most recently had me locking myself in my room and reading all day and night.

Movies - Almost Famous, Stranger than Fiction, Across the Universe, Whiplash... I love documentaries too and have recently been enjoying food related ones such as Forks over Knives, Fed up and Cowspiracy.

Music - I'm into so many different kinds of music but I'll list a few I've been loving in the past year or so ...Dry the River, Hozier, Jake Bugg, Matt Corby, Odesza, Of Monsters and Men, The Milk Carton Kids, The Weepies, Foals, The National, Temper Trap, Vampire Weekend, Little Dragon, Santogold, Grimes and then plenty of old school stuff like, The Mamas and Papas, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Strokes, The Cure, Led Zeppelin, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, The Chillies and I could go on....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm don't know about amazing, but here are some interesting things I've done... lived in an artist collective....toured with a tiny circus carnival in rural China....married an egyptian knife thrower, divorced said egyptian knife thrower.... got lost in rural thailand and trusted an oddball collection of locals to help me... created a circus/theatre/aerial dance show about laundry.... volunteered teaching and directing a circus troupe in Nepal with human trafficking survivors...and joined an aerial dance company in Oregon, got locked in a church for 48 hours to create a circus show in Chicago and travelled the UK with circus companies!
