About Me

An in-progress human being who seeks to contribute something of merit to the world rather than by mindlessly consuming, by choosing to offer something positive to others and the environment whenever possible in daily life, no matter how seemingly small or insignificant.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As an educator who finds this world ever-fascinating, I'd like to travel as much as possible without running myself in to financial ruin. I don't doubt that much of the couch surfing community is the same. While the government considers me a poverty-level wage slave earner, I believe that making meaningful cross-boundary connections (insert whatever stigmatized category du jour) are very much possible, regardless of income or any other seemingly limiting factors. Therefore, I'm here to join others in solidarity who have gone before and who have tried to make this world just a little bit more pleasant and a bit nicer, through the time-tested practice of interfacing via one person, one couch at a time!

Interests

I have a wide variety of interests, and rather than specifically list them all I will broadly categorize them in terms of nature/ecology/sustainable living, literature, philosophy, non-fiction, good music, humor/comedy, hiking, animals, cooking, gardening, (Eastern) mindfulness practices.
