About Me

I grew up in Germany with a German father and a Dutch mother. I moved to the Netherlands for my study of occupational therapist and stayed here afterwards. In my mid twenties I studied and travelled throughout South Africa for half a year.

I was satisfied with just going on vacations for the last years but now the “travel virus” got me again. I would love to sell all my belongings and just see what (countries) life brings me. I start with going to New Zealand and Australia for 16 weeks.

Eventually my boyfriend and me would like to live more in the nature as apposed to the city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am curious about how it works. As I am going to travel to Australia by myself I would like to meet other people over there and do activities together.

When I am back home I do perhaps want to invite people to my house.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

We (our choir) are currentley studying on the song “Coward” from Yael Naïm, that song thouched me

I just started with the book “ The power of now”, I don’t know yet if I can practice it

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the past I dove in Mexico with a view of 100 meter. It was like you had the same sight as above the water only than with the most beautiful, weird, amazing creatures.

When I was in South Africa I attended a speach of Nelson Mandela. I felt very honoured to be so close to such an important man.

One amazing thing I am going to do is travel to New Zealand with my boyfriend for 5 weeks and go to Australia by myself for 11 weeks.

Teach, Learn, Share

In my work I teach people about the difference between acute and persistent pain and how persistent pain works. If anyone is interested I am more than willing to share that knowledge.

I can also teach some techniques from survival sports (assuming there are ropes etc available).
If anyone wants to improve their German or Dutch I would like to help too.

I would love to do more sports. In the past I run half marathons and competed in 2 triatlons. Due to back issues that is not an option now.

Climbing is awsome (only done it twice inside), I would like to learn windsurfing (also did that only 3 times), do inline skating...

I am enthousiastic about the power of the mind. I like to share thoughts about that item. Like the Japanese Masaru Emoto who did research on the effect of thoughts on water and therefore on the human body. I don’t know if every bit of it is true but I do know that the mind is a powerfull instrument.

I would love to learn to use mine more efficently/ positive.
