About Me

Hey!:)  I'm Aina, from a small city right next to Girona, which I really recommend you to visit if you're traveling around Catalonia!

I'm a nature lover so I guess that's why I chose to study Biology, but it could really have been anything else as I love to learn about any subject:) (I'd love to study the degree on History and Geography at some point of my life!)

I'm now back from a trip that took some months in Europe and South America:) ready to host people again so I can keep the travel spirit!

My interest for traveling grew a lot after visiting New Mexico and Colorado during a job stay. Discovering such different and amazing landscapes was so thrilling that I really wanted to keep discovering the world:) Since then I've been traveling as much as my jobs allowed me to, visiting such interesting countries as Iceland, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Phillipines, Morocco and Turkey (I'm in love with them all!).

I consider myself an open-minded person, very independent and easy-going. I love to spend time with others as well as on my own. I will always be up to have fun together or to have conversations and deep discussions about any imaginable topic:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What I love the most when I travel is both discovering the new landscapes and meet the people from the countries I visit. Learn about their culture, how their daily life is, their way of thinking. That's why I started to use the Couchsurfing platform. Being able to host people at my place has been so great as well as meeting wonderful people in Couchsurfing as a surfer and get to truly know the places I visit through its people:)

Interests

I just love to learn about any topic you can imagine. Biology, Physics, Arts, Phylosophy, History, Mechanics, Cultures... anything, really! I consider traveling as one of the best schools of life:)

I love spending time in nature while enjoying the surroundings as well as keep discovering new animal and plant species. The oceans are the best places to do so, as the biodiversity is so huge and marvellous that you will always be surprised by something new:) That's why I'm in love with diving and South-East Asia!  I also love hiking, as the peace you can find in the mountains is difficult to find anywhere else:)

I also love to spend time with others, have fun together and discover new places all along is just the best plan for me! I love reading, listening to music, dancing, cooking, watch documentaries, get involved in social voluntary work...

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, specially books that allow me to learn new things, give me new perspectives or allow me to imagine impossible worlds, either utopian or dystopian!

If I had to choose an author it would be George Orwell without hesitation:)

Music is always present in my life, I love to listen to all sorts of music so I think it's difficult to find a music style that I couldn't listen to at all!

Movies are one of my to-do list in life. There are plenty of good movies I've never seen! So I'll be happy to listen to your recommendations :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Did a voluntary work in a marine biology organization in which we tracked sperm whales on a sailing boat in the Mediterranean during an entire week, navigating day and night!

Swim close to a whale shark in Leyte, the Phillippines (a place where they don't feed them, so we where so lucky to get to see it!)

Diving with big sharks in Sipadan island, Borneo:)

Seen the Northern lights in Lapland!:)

Nigh walk in one of the jungles in Borneo. The sounds there were absolutely magical:)

Rafting at Futaleufú river in Chilean Patagonia

Seen fin whales in Chile, the second largest whale in the world
