ABOUT ME

I'm very laid back and relaxed, love the outdoors and the random adventures that always seem to come my way...

I grew up in Perth Australia, but it being so remote I soon got the travel bug. After realising 9-5 jobs suck I moved to England where I met my lovely girlfriend, and tried to see as much of Europe as possible.

After 3 years in England I thought another change was needed, so hear I am in Canada.

And if you want to spot me in a crowd, just search for the long curly hair :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As much as possible, whether helping others out, meeting new people, and trying to see as much of the world as I can!

My girlfriend and I recently organised a CS camping trip in Ontario to Algonquin Park. The trip ended up being about 20 CSers and was a quite a beast to organise, but darn we had fun!! :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CSing in Toronto was our first main CS experience and it was amazing! It allowed my girlfriend and I to arrive in a new city and straight away have a great circle of friends and interesting people to meet up and chat with.

When I settle down back in Australia it will be great to return the favour and open up my house and repay what the people of CS have given me.

My name is Daniel Ivey, and I have a chilli problem... Put them in everything I say, or just eat them raw, but give me more of those hot south american delights!

After three years living in England I have also have a sweet tooth for cider (no not that horrible clear stuff you get in a bottle, real farm cider)!. I have many plans for when I'm back in Australia to brew my own drop! :)

Apart from that, I'm a big fan of heavy metal, nature, meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, cuisine, beer, 4WDing, camping. An alien ant race would be pretty trippin too!

Books - Fantasy ofcourse ofcourse! David Eddings, Tolkien, Raymond E. Feist...

- Bungy jumped the Nevis in New Zealand
- Saw the ancient ruins in Sukothai, Thailand
- Skied in the French alps
- Rocked out at Wacken for 3 years running (the biggest heavy metal festival on earth), Germany
- Survived La Tomatina in Valencia, Spain
- Took a barrel over Niagara Falls, Canada
- Spent the winter in Fernie BC, skiing daily
