About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Love.

ABOUT ME

I'm just me and that's all anyone will ever need to know.  If you're fake, or use BS to cover up personal flaws or mistakes, or think you might lie to me, don't bother.  I am real, and i demand that you be as well.

I give free NYC tour/stay info to all CS members!  Meal stops, historic sites, best photo op areas, all that good stuff!! Use my experience!

I am also an avid biker, mac user, internet user, i can fix and repair stuff, i'm into cars, but more for safety, efficiency and not just horsepower, i love electric cars.  I also love water, swimming boats, ships, woods, short hikes.  I also love music and play guitar, bass guitar, violin, viola, recorder and keyboard.  I am also into architecture, engineering, bridges tunnels buildings design etc, old stuff, historical stuff...  i'm really into a lot of things, so if you are curious just ask.

I don't own a car, and I will never, i'm all about trains, busses, light rail, bike...

If you're going to go across country, think about utilizing Amtrak, or one of the metro/regional transit systems vs a car.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading to stay informed. I never much cared for fiction for the sake of fiction. It needs a good plot, such as "the number one lady's detective agency" series byAlexander McCall Smith. I have read gone with the wind, dune, and several other "grand" pieces of literature. One of if not my favorite book/novel has to be stewart little. I wait till i get foggy on the details then i read it again.

As for movies, pretty much the same idea applies. I can accept all kinds of ideas a director or write is trying to toss at me, however, poor acting and serious and numerous plot holes that are obviously "patched" bother me. I have never in my entire life picked a movie that i didn't enjoy watching in the theater. I have seen well over 2000 movies ranging from short stories to epics such as 1984, ben hurr, 10 commandments, and other larger than life cinematic adventures and smaller profuctions. I have liked all of the movies by pixar studios, and most of them that i've seen by lion's gate, and fox searchlight. One of my favorite movies, that needs more substance, and also needs to be about an hour and a half longer is " a sound of thunder" Also another fun movie, needing expansion and a re-do to give it more flow and grace is "mission to mars". My favorite movie by far is "dune". The De Laurentis family continues to this day to provide the world with exceptional storytelling with such movies as "the last legion" and "sky captain and the world of tomorrow".

As for music, i am a musician with an uncompleted degree in music theory, and i have an ear. When i say i have an ear, it means i can pick out things, instruments, notes, recording techniques etc without any aide aside from just listening. This makes me very picky about the music that i like, because a lot of music isn't that good, in fact most music is repackaged crap marketed as good & original and sung by people who while maybe having an interesting voice, have no other musical talent, and often have no part in the lyric creation or any of it till they come in & sing. People think being a rock star is cool, but being actually talented, sincere, and the actual creator or creative partner in making the finished work is far more cool. In fact the people we see up on stage are the front of a invisible mechanism designed to sell albums in most cases. The only band (and by band i mean group of people) i can say i like & is my favorite is Green Day. I've been listening to their stuff since 1992, and i think they are one of if not the most sincere group of artists out there today who do play the album sales game. The only other person i can say the same about has to be Danny Elfman, who's music has set the tone (literally & metaphorically) to some of "hollywood's" greatest moments on screen. I enjoy music on a per work, per note basis, as in, i may like all of a song except 12 seconds of it where i disagree with what they've done. Don't ask me what music i like... ;)
