About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet interesting people and see fascinating things

ABOUT ME

I like to feed my mind. Enjoy conversation more than the radio. Prefer talk radio over music radio, yet enjoy most any kind of music excepting hip hop, rap and metal.

Mostly 1940s and newer, any genre (except as stated above).

Good hygiene. Clean. No drugs. No smoking in the car. Prefer the same in the company I keep.

Enjoy exploring new places. Will try almost anything. Prefer dives to franchises. Can play the tourist in even non-tourist towns. Every town, no matter how small, has some great things to see.

PHILOSOPHY

The Golden Rule and Ten Commandments are pretty good, so I just try to live by them.

One of my goals is to make a permanent, positive change where ever I may be.

Another is to make people happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, when I'm not in school, I'm living in the back of my store since I don't have a home (it went away due to a really strong, twisty, breeze).

I've attended a few official CouchSurfing potlucks in Nashville, and hope to go to more in more cities!

Interests

I am a road tripper and have visited 40 states (80%), Mexico, Canada and England (I did not drive to England).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Meteor Crater in Arizona was pretty amazing. I spent eight hours there, while other people spent as little as 30 minutes. Boy did they miss out by not taking the time to study the site and museum!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a wide variety of experiences which range from the mundane to the unbelievable. People tell me all the time I should write a book. However, my life has been so crazy, the stores would put my book in the Fiction section because they wouldn't believe it.

As for teaching, I am an above-average cook (for a guy living alone, that is). I can make popcorn in a wok. I make non-traditional forms of Rice Krispies Treats (including some that don't have Rice Krispies in them). I can cook Chinese food--basics like stir-fry and fried rice. Make a good omelet for supper (I don't eat breakfast).

I know a bit about small business, so I can probably help someone with marketing ideas, understanding financials, customer service, etc.

Oh, and I eat fire.
