ABOUT ME

We are two friends in our early 20s who want to see the world. We're pretty easy going, both intelligent and down to earth. Both of us can be painfully awkward at times, it seems. But I suppose we all can be :)

Vanessa (aka V) is way cooler than Leah, and Leah's more outgoing. Leah's kind of a dork, actually. We both get along really well, with few disagreements in our past. We're both active and like to be doing things, but neither of us are very high maintenance.

Vanessa's braver than Leah, and Leah's more adventurous. Ok that doesn't make sense. Hmm ... For example: Vanessa would be the first to take a big jump riding (bike, board, whatever), and usually beats Leah down the mountain. But Leah is the first to try new things or step up in unfamiliar situations (travel to new countries, talk to strangers, or try to communicate in an unfamiliar language). It's very symbiotic, this part of our friendship.

Leah speaks fluent French, tho she's out of practice so it stumbles a little. She's learning Spanish as well, and knows just enough to get by comfortably in a Spanish speaking place.

Leah's christian, V's agnostic.

Both of us drink a little, neither smoke or do drugs.

Leah's vegetarian.

V's a morning person, Leah's a night owl. But we're both flexible.

Vanessa is (by far) the responsible one.

PHILOSOPHY

We both are very different here.

Leah:
I am conscious, and want to continually be 'waking up'. I want to always learn, always grow. I don't let the little things bother me. I want to realize more and more every day the power my mind really possesses. I want to learn how to better make and maintain meaningful relationships. I could go on and on ...

Vanessa:
I don't know! I've never thought about it. I'll let you know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are both friendly and fun. We make good house guests. So far that is the only way we are helping, just simply growing the positive and conscious community of CS. Once we're equipped to, we'll be hosting. And once we find more ways to participate and add to the community we'll be all over it.

Interests

We love roller coasters, and have made it our live's mission to ride as many as possible. And if it's raining, even better.

We love board sports of all kinds (skim and snow being favorites), and going on adventures and exploring. Together we've gone hiking, biking, geocaching, kayaking, camping, surfing, 4x4ing ...

Vanessa plays baseball, and pretty much rocks at every sport she ever tries.

Leah is a camp counselor in the summer time. She loves yoga, rock climbing, surfing ... pretty much any zen sport.

Music, Movies, and Books

Vanessa likes horror movies, like Saw and the Grindhouse movies. Leah likes fantasy and drama, and also kids stuff. The Golden Compass, Narnia, Peter Pan, Lilo and Stitch.

We both would like to read more than we do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We both snowboard. Snowboarding is amazing.

We drove to Disneyland together and rode the roller coaster TWELVE times!

Went camping/kayaking/surfing/exploring for a week in Tofino.

More amazing things to come! Life is amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Leah:
I am christian, and know enough about the topic to talk to anyone about it. I LOVE learning more. I'm one of those open-minded christians, who wants to learn about everyone else's beliefs too. I'll never never preach. Don't put me on a pedestal though, it isn't fair to those christians who are much better behaved than I.

Vanessa:
I don't know about this either. But I'll think about it and get back to you.
